Sarah has practiced yoga since 1998. She was certified as a Yoga Teacher at “Moksana Yoga Center” in 2005 and has been actively teaching since. In her continuing education, she has studied a variety of health and fitness modalities including Therapeutic Yoga, Fusion Strength Training, and Pilates.
Her appreciation for the ancient system of yoga philosophy is balanced with a respect for anatomy, physiology, and the bio-mechanics of the body. Sarah adapts postures so they make sense for the individual, and creates sequences that focus on ease of movement within the joint’s natural, optimal range of motion.
It is important to her that she create a safe and nurturing environment when guiding private bodywork or yoga sessions or leading group classes.
Sarah’s personal experience of yoga has not only enriched her life deeply, both physically and emotionally, it has inspired her to share what she’s learned from her teachers, and in doing so, to assist others in finding equanimity or balance in life.
In 2009, Sarah completed her Level Two certification through Metta In Motion, school of Traditional Thai Massage, recognized by the Natural Health Practitioner’s of Canada (NHPC). She has since developed a steady massage practice and continues to study a variety of hands-on therapies taught by accredited teachers and schools including West Coast College of Massage Therapy and Bowen College. Sarah’s passion for massage is best felt through her warm, strong hands that intuitively move with care.
